Having finished his college basketball career, this former point guard brings a high level of experience to the Yes I Can Basketball staff. As a college player at Montreat College, Edwards was known for his ability to lead his team and his ability to find the open player. He earned the reputation of being a coach on the court. That has translated into success after college. After historical success at Community House Middle School where he finished his tenure with a record of 58-5, Edwards was hired by Ardrey Kell as the JV boys basketball head coach and Varsity assistant where he has helped the Knights reach 4 conference championships and finish as the State Runner Up in 2021. Edwards has worked on the Yes I Can Basketball staff for many seasons. “Steven is just so popular with the kids.” says Dan McGovern “He pushes them to be the best they can be – but does it in a way where the kids know he cares about them. Steven is active in his church and is a good match for our kids’ eyes and ears”.
