Adam Calderone was born and raised in Connecticut and has had a passion for the
game of basketball for as long as he can remember. His first basketball memories were
watching Ray Allen and Rip Hamilton play at UConn, which inspired him to get involved
in playing and coaching basketball.
Adam moved to Charlotte in 2014 to pursue an opportunity with an AmeriCorps
program, focusing on serving impoverished communities in the city. He now serves as
the Recreation Director of Pritchard Church; in his role, Adam helped grow the Pritchard
Men’s Basketball League into one of the biggest adult basketball leagues in all of
Charlotte. He is also a board member and active coach in the IMPACT Youth Basketball
League, an interfaith league with over 190 youth teams across a wide range of ages.
Adam is passionate about teaching kids the fundamentals in basketball and the
importance of playing with good sportsmanship, bringing energy, and having fun.
